This week I was looking around on a the website of Hermes and found a free pattern (download the pattern for the folding instructions, click on the second last square at the bottom of the webpage) for a Kelly bag…you know, those really expensive 3000 dollar bags:-) Of course, these were made of paper and will be great as gift bags for a gift certificate or some candy or bonbons, lipstick, eyeshadow, all those sorts of little gifts. I saw the pattern and thought, I should make one in designstudio. So I did. I made mine with a bit of ribbon. I glued ribbon on top of the handle and I used ribbon for closure, I thought that looked better then paper. I also used a bit of magnetic tape to make sure the bag stays closed. The cutfile is made in George.

Last week I had so much fun making gift bags. These are all made for my father in law, who is going to be 65 years old tomorrow. That’s the official age people can retire from work in the Netherlands. I filled the bags with all funny things, like advertisements for old peoples chairs, or an elevator for the stairs, shampoo for grey hair, so all kinds of things old people may have or want to use, just to make fun:-) In the last one I put a gift certificate for a book, because he likes to read. I also made a card for him with the number 65 of course and the instructions for opening the giftbags (1 every 45 minutes:-)
I made the cutfile in George and also in Plantin schoolbook. You have to have designstudio and the expression!!! After making the file in George or Plantin schoolbook, I made some extra with windows (glue transparencies behind them), using Christmas and Christmas Cheer as well. May come in handy for Christmas gifts.
Instructions: Cut the file, put a transparency behind the windows, score the lines, fold and glue it together. Fold the top, put your gift in it and close the bag with a bow or something else you like. Have fun with it.
De afgelopen week heb ik deze cadeauzakjes gemaakt. Ze zijn allemaal voor mijn schoonvader, die morgen 65 wordt. Ik heb ze gevuld met allerlei gekke dingen, zoals advertenties van sta-op stoelen, incontinentieluiers, een flessenlikker om de laatste restje bij elkaar te schrapen, (het inkomen is immers wat minder:-) etc. In de laatste heb ik een boekenbon gedaan omdat hij dol is op lezen. Ik heb ook een kaart voor hem gemaakt met het nummer 65, met daarin de instructies voor het openen van de pakjes, 1 per 45 minuten.
Ik heb de cutfile gemaakt in George en ook in Plantin Schoolbook. Je hebt designstudio nodig en de expression. Na het maken van de file in George en Plantin Schoolbook heb ik er nog extra gemaakt met venstertjes. (plak hier transparanten achter) Hiervoor heb ik Christmas en Christmas Cheer gebruikt. Dat kan handig zijn met het oog op de kerstdagen.
Instructies: Snij de cutfile, plak een transparant achter het venster, score de lijnen en vouw en plak hem in elkaar. Vouw de bovenkant om, stop het cadeautje erin en knoop hem dicht met een mooi lint. Veel plezier ermee.

Today I made an ampersand card (A5) for my niece who is getting married tomorrow. A bit late, but we were planning to go, but then my husband got an invitation for a job interview, so that’s a little bit more important. (He works as an IT-consult, but at the moment he doesn’t have a project). I made this card with Basecamp and Joys of the season. I used some scrappersfloss in the middle of the flowers to give the flowers more dept. The cutfiles are available, without the names of course. You have to put your own names there:-)

We zouden eerst gaan, maar toen kreeg mijn echgenoot ineens een uitnodiging voor een gesprek voor een mogelijke opdracht voor zijn werk. Dat is iets belangrijker. Deze kaart is gemaakt in Basecamp en Joys of the Season. Ik heb voor de meeldraden scrappersfloss gebruikt zodat de bloemen wat meer diepte krijgen. De cutfiles zijn verkrijgbaar zonder de namen natuurlijk, daar mag je je eigen namen bij maken.

Are you, just like me, totally in love with the polar bear on the JOTS cartridge? Then this card is something for you. It’s another accordeon stairstep card. You need the following cartridges: George, Camp out and Joys of the Season.
The card has a base of 10,5 x 5 inch, wich you score at 1,25″-2,5″-4,25″-6″ and at 8,25″. Then fold the card with hills and valleys, accordeon style. Make sure that the part of 1,25″ is folded down! I then ran it through the cuttlebug embossing bubble folder. Cut out all the peaces of the cutfile, glue them together, put some stickles on it and glue the parts on the base. For the sky I used a piece of 5″ x 4″ blue cardstock, but it’s not neccesary, you can also just leave it with only the mountains. Have fun with it.

For all the people who have a little bug and where so disappointed that they couldn’t use the mini magazine holder of the last post, I made another one, even smaller and it can be used in all Cricut machines. It is made in George and in Plantin Schoolbook. This one is 3,75″ x 3,75″ x 1,75″. You can put note cards in it. Note: I put in the instruction to use matboard of 0,5 mm, the correct term (thanks Suzanne Faris) is chipboard of 0,5 mm.
Voor al diegenen die een kleine cricut hebben en zo teleurgesteld waren dat ze de mini tijdschriftenhouder niet konden gebruiken heb ik een nog kleinere gemaakt, die geschikt is voor alle cricutmachines. Hij is gemaakt in George en in Plantin Schoolbook. Deze is 3,75″ x 3,75″ x 1,75″. Je kunt er kleine kaartjes of notitieblaadjes in doen.

Oh did I make something totally cute today. A mini magazine holder. I saw them somewhere on the web and thought I should make a cutfile of it….and so I did:-) The magazine holder is 4,5″ x 6,5″, so that’s perfect to store cards or pictures in it. I had so much fun creating this. You absolutely need the cricut expression for this file and a 12″ x 24″ cutting mat! I hope you have as much fun creating this as I had. A perfect gift for the holidays. Note: I put in the instruction to use matboard of 0,5 mm, the correct term (thanks Suzanne Faris) is chipboard of 0,5 mm.

Oh, wat heb ik vandaag iets leuks gemaakt. Een minitijdschriftenhouder. Ik zag ze ergens op internet en dacht toen dat ik er eigenlijk een cutfile van zou moeten maken…nou, dat heb ik gedaan. De minitijdschriftenhouder is 4,5″ x 6,5″, dus dat is perfect voor kaarten of foto’s. Je hebt absoluut een cricut expression en een snijmat van 12″ x 24″ nodig. Ik hoop dat je net zoveel plezier in het maken hebt als ik had. Een perfect cadeautje voor de feestdagen.

Last week I stumbled on a beautiful card at http://www.brensdesigns.com . I really loved it so all credits for this card go to her. Unfortunally she hadn’t made a cutfile and I didn’t have that cricut cartridge. So the first thing I did is ordering this Christmas cartridge (Creadie) and then started making the cutfile. So all the work is done for you. The card has a base of 10,5 x 5 inch, wich you score at 1,25″-2,5″-4,25″-6″ and at 8,25″. Then fold the card with hills and valleys, accordeon style. Make sure that the part of 1,25″ is folded down! I then ran it through the cuttlebug embossing bubble folder. Cut out all the peaces of the cutfile, run the snowy parts through the cuttlebug bubble embossingfolder and glue the pieces together. I used stickles to glossy them up a bit, but that’s not neccesary. Then glue all the pieces on to the base card.
For the people who don’t have designstudio: Houses at 2 inch, Trees at 3,5 inch, Church at 3 inch and Santa at 2 inch.

Yesterday I made two more cards. This time I made some christmas cards with the cuttlebug of course:-)
Gisteren heb ik nog twee kaarten gemaakt. Deze keer zijn het kerstkaarten, natuurlijk gemaakt met de cuttlebug:-)
I recently bought the cuttlebug and I love playing with it, escpecially with the embossingfolders. So I made two cards today. Totally Halloween maybe, but you can also use them on other occations. Just stamp Happy birthday or another wish in the inside of the card. The tree is a part of the tree on the PDDU Cricut cartridge and the bats are the cut and embossingfolders from Provocraft for the cuttlebug. The title is made with the George Cricut cartridge and the little tag is from Quickutz. De spiders web is an embossing folder for the cuttlebug.
Onlangs heb ik de cuttlebug gekocht en ik vind het heerlijk om daar mee te spelen, helemaal met de embossingfolders. Ik heb vandaag 2 kaarten gemaakt. Wel halloweenachtig, maar je kunt ze ook voor andere gelegenheden gebruiken door aan de binnenkant van de kaart bv. Hartelijk gefeliciteerd of een andere wens te stempelen. De boom is een gedeelte van de boom van de PDDU Cricutcartridge en de vleermuizen zijn een snij en embossingmal van Provocraft voor de cuttlebug. De titel is gemaakt met de George Cricutcartridge en de kleine tag is van Quickutz. Het spinnenweb is een embossingmal voor de cuttlebug.
